The island is beautiful and unique, which is one of the reasons that tourism to the island is controlled and limited by the Spanish government, which has declared it as a preserved biosphere.

La Palma contains high summits of 2400 meters and high inclined slopes. The island is surrounded 360 degrees by the Atlantic Ocean. On the island, you‘ll find a wide variety of bike trails of all styles and enjoy the unique feel of isolation from the rest of the world.

Riding style
All riders will find plenty of bike trails fit for them – from basic XC rides (requires climbing abilities) to the most aggressive AM and FR rides.

When to come
The best time to come is from the beginning of November to the end of March.

Getting around La-Palma
You must hire a guide in order to get around, since trails are poorly marked and mapped out.

Arranging a biking vacation in La-Palma
In order to arrange biking vacations, riders who are in the area for the week teem up in groups divided by biking levels and hire a local guide for the week.

Accommodations
We recommend staying at a hotel or a self catered apartment in the center of the town of Los Llanos.

Bike hire
You can hire a Bergamount bikes at reasonable prices. All bikes are of the latest models, well accessorized and very well maintained.

How to reach La-Palma
In order to reach the island you‘ll need to fly to Santa Cruz de La Palma airport. You can take an Iberia flight from Madrid. In addition, there are direct flights from a small number of European airports. Please make sure airport code is SPC, since there are a few airports with quite similar names.

Additional activities
There is plenty to do in La-Palma, besides mountain biking. After a day of mountain-biking you can enjoy all of what the delightful town of Los Llanos has to offer. There are many bars, places to shop, clubs to dance in, and much more.
